Is it really anonymous?
To the recipient, yes. Messages arrive from OMGossip's phone number and never include your name, number, or any identifying detail — unless you write one into the gossip yourself. To us, no: every message is tied to the verified account that sent it. That's deliberate. It keeps the service playful for recipients while making sure nobody can use it to harass people without consequences.
What does the person I send to actually see?
A normal text message from our number. It opens with "OMGossip:", contains your transformed gossip signed "XOXO, Gossip Girl", and ends with "Reply STOP to opt out." If your gossip runs long, it may arrive as two linked SMS segments, which nearly all phones stitch back together automatically.
Can recipients reply to the message?
They can reply STOP to never hear from us again (this is honored immediately and permanently), or HELP to get assistance. Other replies aren't forwarded to you — the conversation is one-way by design, which is part of what keeps it anonymous.
What if someone doesn't want gossip texts?
One word: STOP. The moment anyone replies STOP to any of our messages, their number is unsubscribed and no account can send to it through us again. If a friend asks you to stop first, stop first — sending unwanted messages violates our terms and can get your account suspended.
How many gossips can I send?
Free members can send 5 gossips per week, each to up to 5 recipients, with a one-minute cooldown between sends. Premium members get a much higher ceiling — up to 50 recipients per gossip — plus priority delivery. The weekly counter resets every Sunday.
Why do I see an ad before my gossip is transformed?
Ads are how the free tier pays for the AI transformation and SMS delivery, which cost us real money per message. Watch a short ad, get your scandal. Premium members skip ads entirely.
What does Premium cost and can I cancel?
Premium is a monthly subscription (there's also a lifetime option) — current pricing is on the premium page. It removes ads, raises recipient limits to 50 per gossip, and prioritizes delivery. You can cancel any time from your account and keep the benefits through the end of the paid period. Refunds are available within 7 days of purchase.
Are the messages written by a real person?
You write the raw gossip; an AI model rewrites it in the gossip-blogger voice. You always see the result before it sends, and you can edit it by hand or regenerate it. The AI also refuses to glamorize genuinely harmful content — threats, hate, and harassment don't get the XOXO treatment, they get blocked.
What happens to the phone numbers I add?
They're stored in your private contact circle and used only to deliver messages you choose to send. We never sell contact data, and no mobile information is shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Delete a contact and it's gone from your circle immediately.
Can I delete my account and data?
Yes. Reach out through the contact page and we'll delete your account and associated data within 30 days, as described in our privacy policy. Opt-out records (STOP requests) are the one thing we keep, because carriers require us to honor them permanently.
Do messages cost recipients anything?
We never charge recipients. Standard message and data rates from their own carrier plan may apply, the same as any other text they receive.
Someone used this to be cruel. What do I do?
Tell us through the contact page with the number the message arrived from and roughly when it arrived. Because every gossip is tied to a verified sender account, we can trace it, suspend the account, and block the sender. And reply STOP to the message so nothing else gets through while we investigate.
